Greetings from Pauline – by Pauline Long-Wright

Summer 2013 (4)

I have been given the great privilege and responsibility of writing the Saskatchewan Cowboy Dressage blog. I must admit my first reaction was one of panic; so I am now taking a deep breath and respecting the honor that has been bestowed upon me. This will be real and from the heart.

I believe the draw of the enthusiasm for Cowboy Dressage that is fueling the exponential growth of this discipline can be found in the Cowboy Dressage mandate: to truly be kind to, and do the best for your horse and your fellow man. The competition is not with each other – it is our own journey of a harmonious partnership with our horse. Most, if not all of us that have found Cowboy Dressage have had experiences with other disciplines that we somehow just ‘didn’t feel the right fit’. To paraphrase Cowboy Dressage co-founder Lyn Ringrose-Moe in the early days of Cowboy Dressage, “I felt I had come home”. I think we all echo this. After years of an uncomfortable journey in the horse world I can finally be involved in a discipline that mirrors, supports and encourages my vision for my equine experience.

So, on behalf of all present and future Saskatchewan Cowboy Dressage enthusiasts and our beloved horses, I wish to thank Eitan Beth-Halachmy and co-founders of Cowboy Dressage for their vision, courage, commitment and dedication. We have all found home.
